BarbooCreations was founded with a vision to bring contemporary Fluid Art to a wider audience, and to create a space where people can come together to engage with other like-minded artists. I believe that art has the power to inspire, challenge, transform, and I am committed to bringing the best and most innovative contemporary art to this community. My goal is to share ideas, techniques, teach and display original and unique creations that emerge through this phenomenon we call Fluid Art. I encourage my readers to ask questions, browse the gallery and follow this growing artistic community. Each month I'll add new paintings to my gallery. These creations have branched out to creating other fun forms of art, such as making jewelry, coasters, trivets, clocks and so on. The list is endless. My hope is to inspire you to join this growing community of Fluid Artists. Every day I find joy and tranquility that transcend my mind and spirit into an inspiring journey, and I invite you to share this experience with me.
Acrylic pouring is a fascinating and dynamic form of art that has gained popularity in recent years. The technique involves pouring acrylic paints onto a canvas, or other surfaces, to create mesmerizing effects with colors, patterns and movement.
I specialize in acrylic pouring using different techniques & styles such as Dutch Pours, Dirty Pours, Flip Cup Pours, Balloon Kisses, Pearl Pours, Cloud Pours, Swipes and the Bloom Technique, to name a few.
My goal is to contribute to the growth and appreciation of this vibrant artistic community. In essence, this website is to serve as a hub for enthusiasts and collectors to explore and celebrate the beauty of Acrylic Pouring. What I find extraordinary, is that each piece is an original. You cannot make an exact duplicate of your art. My goal is to have several events a year to showcase my artwork as well as the many talented followers we have. These exhibitions are designed to challenge and inspire, and I encourage visitors to engage with me and other Artists in this community. Just enjoy this experience and have fun.
Fluid Art, particularly Acrylic Pouring, holds a significant place in my life for several reasons. First, it serves as a form of artistic expression that allows me to explore my creativity in a unique and exciting way. The process of mixing paints, experimenting with colors, and witnessing the unpredictable yet beautiful patterns that emerge is incredibly fulfilling.
Beyond it's artistic value, Fluid Art has therapeutic qualities. Engaging in the rhythmic pouring and tilting of the canvas induces a sense of calmness and mindfulness, providing an escape from the stresses of daily life. The fluidity of the paint and the freedom to manipulate it allows me to let go of control and embrace the present moment fully.
Moreover, fluid art has taught me valuable lessons about embracing imperfections and finding beauty in unpredictability. Each pour is inherently different, and while I may have a vision in mind, the final result often surprises me. This process has taught me to appreciate the beauty of imperfection and to find joy in the unexpected outcomes.
Finally, Fluid Art has become a means of connection to others, as I share my work with people who also have a passion for this art form.
I never thought of myself as an Artist but Acrylic Pouring has given me the gift of becoming one. I was born in Maryland and had a fulfilling career in Social Work. One day I saw oil canvases a dear friend of mine had painted. I was inspired by her talent and creativity, but at night when I was thinking about painting...I just kept seeing abstract art with bright colors. My friend suggested I watch painting videos on YouTube (which I did) but I wasn't taken with the usual oil paintings. Then I saw a video on Acrylic Pouring and fell in love with what I was seeing. I was hooked. I was captivated by the beauty of what I saw in these videos. I started painting and haven't stopped. My personal growth and love for this art form has consumed me. The happiness and utter joy I feel when painting is simply fulfilling.
The name Barboo is a nickname given to me by my God Children. When they saw my artwork, they said "Aunt Barboo ...you should sell these...People will love them". And they were right. I worked hard, created a website, logo and wrote about my passion. I love teaching what I've learned and sharing this vision with others. If you are also inspired by this art...join me in this journey.
Cheers,
B
